Datil Yellow Chilli – An Exceptionally Hot Chilli Pepper – 10 Seeds

The Datil is an exceptionally hot pepper. They are stronger than the habaneros but have a nice fruitier flavor. Mature peppers grows about 3 inches long and turns yellow-orange in color when ripe.

Their level of spiciness can reach up to 300,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU) where a Jalapeno pepper produces between 3,500-8,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU)!!!

They have been cultivating in St. Augustine, Florida, United States since 1880. After the successful cultivation and popularity they are now cultivated throughout the United States and elsewhere, but the majority are produced in St. Augustine.

Due to quarantine restrictions, seeds can’t be sent to Tasmania.

They are so popular chilli pepper in USA, they even have an annual “Datil Pepper Festival”!!!

Sowing Instructions:
They are very easy to grow & easy to maintain. This plant will continuously produce chilli during warmer months. Seeds need min 20°C to germinate. With a proper care in frosty time this will survive up to 3 years. Soak the seeds in water for a few hours before planting and sow them between 5mm deep in a sunny, well-drained position. Germinates between 2-4 weeks. Grow indoor in extreme weather condition and then transfer when mature enough to survive.
