Dorset Naga chilli pepper is one of the hottest chilli pepper in the world. It's rated at 1.23 million Scoville Heat Units (SHU) where a Jalapeno pepper produces between 3,500-8,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU)!!!

The Dorset Naga chilli is almost twice as hot as Red Savina Habanero which was world's hottest chilli record holder from 1994 until 2006. Dorset Naga has been cultivated by curry lovers Joy and Michael Michaurd at their home in West Bexington near Dorchester, United Kingdom. This chilli was developed from a Bangladeshi Naga pepper they bought at an Oriental food shop in Bournemouth, and is sold with a health warning.

How hot are they?

200 times hotter than JALAPENO
100 times hotter than TABASCO chilli and
5 times hotter than a HABANERO Chilli

See the comparison in Scoville heat scale:

A Jalapeno logs about 5,000 on the heat scale and
A Dorset Naga Chilli logs about 1,230,245!!!! (over 1.2 million)
