Watercress contains significant amounts of iron, calcium, iodine, and folic acid, in addition to vitamins A and C.[5] Because it is relatively rich in Vitamin C, watercress was suggested (among other plants).
A vegetable that contains more iron than spinach, more calcium than milk, and more vitamin C than oranges!
Sow in very shallow drills spread 3 inches apart, and cover with a light covering of soil. Watercress seeds germinate fairly quickly and germinate between 7 to 10 days. Thin out the seedlings to approximately 4 inches apart. When watercress established themselves into healthy growing plants and producing new shoots then feed them regularly. Use miracle grow / Seaweed / Powerfeed regularly and watch their vigorous growth! And please remember water them everyday to keep the compost damp.

Essential oil (rafanol), vitamins A, C, E, D and B1, B2, B6, K, carotene, minerals ( iron, magnesium, manganese, sulphur, zinc, and potassium, iodine), and bitters. Watercress has thiocyanateglycosides, mustard oil glycosides (glucosinolates), specifically gluconasturtiin, which can be hydrolyzed to 2- phenethyl isothiocyanate.
