This chilli is a hot, citrus like-flavored pepper which is a popular seasoning pepper in Peru and known as Kellu Uchu^. It’s rated around 30,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU) where a Jalapeno pepper produces between 3,500-8,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU)!!!It is also known as ‘Hot lemon’. Chillies are bright yellow, crinkled, cone-shaped and about 2½” long and 1/2″ wide and mature from green to yellow. These peppers were practically unknown in the West until the early 1990s but are now gaining wide-scale popularity.^

Buenos Caribe chilli pepper has slightly sweet taste and are fairly mild in pungency. This medium sized attractive open pollinated variety produce loads of medium hot chilli about 2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches in diametre. The chilli matures from light green to yellow then beautiful red when ripe.
The peppers have a slightly sweet taste and are about the same heat as a Jalapeño (between 5000 to 8000 scoville heat units) and are delicious fresh, and also perfect for pickling.
